What is LuBase?

The LuBase from LuON is the heart of a smart home. It offers the most efficient components, an incredible speed of operation, and modern communication methods as a standard. In short – absolutely no compromises.

Lighting

The LuBase is impressively illuminated. This allows it to serve as a decorative element in your home, but the illumination also has practical uses. It informs users about key events, such as the beginning of a pairing sequence or adding of a new device.

Design

We have moved all sockets outside the gateway’s main body. This allows you to conceal unsightly elements and helps with cable management. Thanks to this approach, LuBase can become a decorative element that you’ll be happy to place in a visible location.

Works with Apple Home

luonOS is a closed system, but it is fully integrated with Apple Home, and in the nearest future, it will be integrated with Matter as well. This allows the LuBase central unit to offer incredible configurational flexibility and the ability to tailor it to your own needs and expectations.

Speed

Communication between LuBase and devices or application happen in a fraction of a second. The whole system is ready to operate within a few seconds after startup.

Log memory

Store logs from all your devices and services in LuBase’s built-in memory for up to 5 years – this way, you’ll have the ability to revisit them whenever you want.

Backup

LuBase automatically creates a full backup of your settings in external memory, which can be easily transferred and restored to another LuBase hub if needed.

Independence

What is a service?

Service is a task performed by a device. Example: LuBase is a device, and controlling the lighting is one of the services it offers.

Efficiency

The LuBase central unit can handle up to 150 devices, which means the ability to manage even 1000 services. Thanks to such high efficiency, a single LuBase central unit is sufficient to control all devices in the entire house, regardless of its size.

LuAiR communication

LuAir is a wireless communication method used in luonOS, based on ESP-NOW technology.

LuLiNE communication

LuLine is a fast wired communication technology based on the CAN bus, commonly used in aviation, automotive, and even space industry.

Ethernet

LuBase can be connected to the network using an Ethernet cable. This ensures that the connection is always stable, fast, and provides reliable operation.

Signal relay

All LuON devices connected to a constant power source transmit the LuAiR signal to other devices within their range.

Additional features

Dynamic lighting

LuBase has been equipped with animated lighting, the brightness of which can be fully adjusted and, if needed, turned off – also using Apple Home automation.

Signals

LuBase lighting signalises start and finish of a pairing process and other important luonON events.

Replaceable memory

Memory storing logs and backups is fully replaceable. Additionally, we have provided it with encryption to secure stored data against unauthorized access.

Variables

LuBase works with constant, counting and repeating variables (LuVariable), which you can use in Apple Home.

Notifications

LuBase allows you to define your own, individual notifications, that can be added to Apple Home scenes and used in automations.

Swapping devices

With LuBase you don't need to modify scenes and automations when swapping a device - all you need is just a few clicks to add a new device.

LuAiR and LuLiNE cooperation

Wired and wireless communication designed by LuON can work together. When one of them fails, the other one automatically takes over its tasks.

Safety

Communication between LuAiR and LuLiNE is fully encrypted. Furthermore, each device added to the system has its unique encryption key, which further enhances security.

Distributed and centralized at the same time

The luonOS system can be configured to operate as both a distributed and centralized system. This makes it even more reliable.

Updates

Devices update automatically when they are rarely used. You can also use the manual update option - for a single device or all of them at once.
